The energy sector, with its high investment volume, technical complexity, and dense regulatory framework, requires a specialized approach to dispute resolution. In this context, Energy Disputes Arbitration Center (EDAC) continues to emphasize the importance of sector-specific arbitration frameworks tailored to energy-related disputes.
Today, Energy Disputes Arbitration Center (EDAC) Chairman Suleyman BOSCA participated in the panel titled “Current Debates and New Approaches in Arbitration Law” hosted by Ankara Medipol Üniversitesi Faculty of Law. His speech addressed the global transformation of energy arbitration, sectoral dynamics, and EDAC’s vision for the future.
The panel highlighted several key developments shaping the future of energy arbitration. Arbitration is increasingly becoming a multidisciplinary platform where law, energy, environmental concerns, finance, and technology converge. ESG obligations, carbon trading mechanisms, and renewable energy investments are driving a new generation of energy-related disputes, necessitating specialized resolution frameworks. EDAC’s arbitration panels reflect this complexity, comprising not only legal professionals but also energy economists, engineers, environmental specialists, and finance experts, ensuring comprehensive and sector-specific evaluations. Furthermore, the digitalization of arbitration -through electronic filings, virtual hearings, and AI-assisted arbitrator selection- has significantly improved the accessibility and efficiency of the process. In today’s rapidly evolving energy landscape, the prompt and expert resolution of disputes arising from green investments has become a strategic necessity.
At Energy Disputes Arbitration Center (EDAC), we remain committed to building sustainable and sector-sensitive arbitration frameworks that promote legal certainty in the global energy transition.
